Established in 1879, the Frontenac Law Association (“FLA”) is one of the oldest county law libraries in the province. While providing library services to judges and lawyers has been its core function for the last 138 years, the FLA also hosts educational and social events and provides practice resources to its members. The FLA’s annual Kingston and the 1000 Islands Legal Conference has gained a reputation as one of the leading legal education events in the province.
The FLA and its members have a close and long-standing connection with the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University and, in furtherance of that relationship, the FLA has created the Frontenac Law Association Award (the “Award”). This $1,500 cash award may be granted to a graduating student at Queen’s University Faculty of Law who intends to remain and practice law in the County of Frontenac.
